Pakistani AH-1F Cobra Gunship Helicopter Crashes in Gujranwala

The AH-1F Cobra gunship helicopter of the Pakistan Army Aviation Corp has crashed near Chenab Gate,Cantt area of Gujranwala during flight fter experiencing some technical problem.

Major Furqan and Major Imran, the pilot and co-pilot of gunship helicopter were injured in the crash and taken to CMH Hospital. AH-1F Cobra Gunship helicopters are playing an active role in the anti-terrorism operations in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) near Afghan border.

Pakistan army is using Vietnam era AH-1F Cobra gunship helicopters which spend more time at ground then in air as they require lots of maintenance hours to keep them in airworthy.

Pakistan Army Aviation Corp is actively pursing AH-1Z SuperCobra attack helicopter and TAI/AgustaWestland T-129 (AW729) attack helicopter options to replace its aging fleet of AH-1F Cobras.

PNS Nasr and PNS Khyber on Goodwill Visit to Sri Lanka

PNS Nasr auxiliary oiler replenishment (AOR) of Pakistani Navy Fleet's 9th Auxiliary and Mine Warfare Squadron and PNS Khyber Tariq-class guided missile frigate are visiting Colombo Port.

PNS Nasr auxiliary oiler replenishment (AOR) is used for sustained naval operations at sea as well as for long range helicopter operations armed with anti-ship missile and torpedoes.

PNS Nasr auxiliary oiler replenishment (AOR) is commanded by Captain Tarique Hussain and PNS Khyber guided missile frigate is commanded by Captain Muhammad Faisal Abbasi .

Army Chief Gen Kayani To Visit China Next Week

Chief of Army Staff Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani will visit China next week from October 28-30, 2013. Army chief will meet his Chinese counterparts and other Chinese officials and discuss ways to enhance defence  cooperation with China.

Naval Chief Visits Pak Marine�s Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) Squadron

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila accompanied by Commander Pakistan Fleet and Commander Coast today visited the Pakistan Navy�s Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) set up at HQ 1st Pak Marine Battalion in Sajawal, Creeks area during operational visit to field units. A Pakistan Navy press release issued here on Friday said that during the visit, Admiral Sandila was briefed about the operational employment and material preparedness of PN Fleet�s UAV Squadron deployed in the Creeks Areas.


 The Naval Chief also witnessed the operational flying activities of the indigenously built UQAB UAV and addressed the troops deployed in Creeks Areas on operational assignment. Chief of the Naval Staff said that over the years, Pakistan Navy has made gradual yet substantial progress in consolidating operational experience of handling Hi-Tech UAVs in line with contemporary warfare trends. He expressed his complete satisfaction over the operational capabilities demonstrated by the UAV Squadron.

 He appreciated the efforts put in by the concerned officers and men in establishing the UAV Squadron and its effective integration in Pakistan Navy�s Operations. Earlier, Admiral Sandila visited PN Dockyard to monitor the progress of Pakistan Navy Ships and Submarine under planned maintenance schedule. While talking to the team of Pakistan Navy�s engineers and technicians, the Admiral emphasised on the need to continue focus on indigenisation of maintenance and logistics solutions in Pakistan Navy. He commended the efforts being put in by PN engineers and technical staff for their meticulous job and professional achievements.

Pakistani Defense Industry To Focus on Increasing Defence Exports

Pakistani Minister for Defence Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain has said that defense industry of Pakistan has started to mature and Govt of Pakistan plans to enhance its defence exports to the friendly countries and international markets. . He made these comments while he was visiting the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex. Minister was briefed by Air Marshal Sohail Gul Khan, Chairman Pakistan Aeronautical Complex.

He said that Pakistani defence infrastructure and trained manpower not only to meet its own defence requirements but also to undertake joint ventures.  Minister for Defence Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain  was given detailed tour of the Aircraft Rebuild Factory, Mirage Rebuild Factory, Avionics Production Factory. Tanveer appreciated the efforts of workers and technical staff involved in the JF-17 Thunder fighter jet .

Pakistani Navy's PNS Aslat F-22P Zulfiquar Class frigate has arrived at the G�lc�k Naval Base in Turkey. PNS Aslat will participate in different naval exercises with the Turkish Navy  from October 22-25, 2013.

US Agrees To Release $1.6 Billion in Military & Economic Aid and Restart Strategic Dialogue

United States of America (USA) plans to issue over $1.6 billion in military and economic aid to Pakistan which was stopped after the tension between the two countries increased due to covert US Navy SEAL team killed Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad,  in Pakistan and airstrike that killed 24 Pakistani soldiers.



United States of America (USA)  has also agreed to restart of the strategic dialogue. Both these steps expected to be discussed when President Obama meets Pakistani prime minister Nawaz Sharif later this week.

F-22P PNS Aslat Frigate Reaches at Russian Port of Novorossiysk

Pakistani Navy's PNS Aslat F-22P Zulfiquar Class frigate has arrived at the Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk.
Pakistan Fleet Commander Admiral Khan Hasharm Bin Saddique has said that this friendly visit by the Pakistani warship is a new stage in cooperation between Russia and Pakistan.

Command and Control Centres of Naval Strategic Force Command Inaugurated

Pakistan has successfully constructed  two Command and Control Centres of Naval Strategic Force Command. These Command and Control are state of the Art fully protacted facilities.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Khalid Shameem Wayne inaugurated these Network Centric enabled Command and Control Centres. Chief of the Naval Staff,  Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila and Director General Strategic Plans Division, Lieutenant General (Retd) Khalid Ahmed Kidwai were also present on these occasions.

My tenure ends on 29th November 2013: General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani

Pakistani Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has said, "For quite sometime, my current responsibilities and likely future plans have been debated in the media with all sorts of rumours and speculations doing the rounds. The subject of being entrusted with new duties has also come up in several reports.

 I am grateful to the political leadership and the nation for reposing their trust in me and Pakistan Army at this important juncture of our national history. However, I share the general opinion that institutions and traditions are stronger than individuals and must take precedence.As I complete my tenure the will of the people has taken root and a constitutional order is in place. The armed forces of Pakistan fully support and want to strengthen this democratic order. Pakistan Army has made its contribution towards this desired END with complete clarity of mind and a comprehensive understanding of the trajectory Pakistan needs to take.

 They have also proven, on countless occasions, through their priceless sacrifices that the defence and prosperity of Pakistan is their highest priority.I have served this great nation and had the privilege of commanding the finest Army of the world for six years to the best of my abilities and with the sincerest of my intentions. It is time for others to carry forward the mission of making Pakistan a truly democratic, prosperous and peaceful country that embodies the finest dreams our founding fathers had envisaged for us.

My tenure ends on 29th November 2013. On that day I will retire. May the Almighty Allah help and guide us all."

14 Helicopters and 2 C-130 Transport Aircrafts Taking Part in Relief Work

Over 2000 soldiers, 14 transport helicopters of the Pakistan Army Aviation Corp and 2 C-130 transport aircraft of Pakistan Air Force are participating in relief work in Awaran. Transport helicopters has flown over 134 sorties to affected areas for transportation of relief items including 962 tons rations and 370 tons of relief goods.

Terrorists Planned To Attack Naval and Air Headquarter with Remote Controlled Aircrafts

Pakistani joint team consisting of criminal investigation department (CID), intelligence agencies and police officials has discovered that terrorists had planned to attack Pakistani Naval and Air Headquarter along with other sensitive installations with Remotely controlled aircraft. Police has also recovered three remotely controlled aircraft from houses of accused during raids, had a capacity of carrying 1-kg explosive.
