Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) and witnessed the demonstration of T-129 Attack and Tactical Reconnaissance Helicopters. Pakistan will send its team of experts from Kamra Re-build Factory to look into the technical details involved in joint production of T-129 Attack Helicopters.
Pakistan and Turkey has sign 13 agreements and memorandum of understanding (MoU) for joint cooperation in different fields in the presence of the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Turkish T-129 (AW729) attack helicopter is a highly optimised for �hot & high� environments version of the Agusta A129 Mangusta gunship helicopter designed to meet the Turkish requirements. It can carry a payload of 8 UMTAS air-to-surface anti-tank guided missile (ATGM), 12 guided 2.75� rockets, 2 air-to-air missiles and 500 rounds, simultaneously. UMTAS anti-tank guided missile uses Infrared Imaging Seeker and Laser Seeker and it can destroy targets from a distance of 8 km.
