The Pakistan Army (PA) has started military exercise, Azm-i-Nau IV at the National Defence University to improve its readiness strategy for tackling the complex security threat environment faced by the Pakistan.
Spokesperson of the Pakistan Army has said that �This Army War Game is the culmination of the series of such exercises and aims at validation and crystallisation of operational plans prepared in view of the emerging threat environment.�
This exercise will include both the internal challenge from terrorists and the conventional threat of external aggression. This exercise will last two weeks and cover full spectrum of potential threats. Main objective of this drill is to assess the tactics, techniques and procedures of the Pakistan army for joint operations with Pakistan Navy and Air Force.
Army spokesperson has said, �Operational plans of Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy are also being finalised in close coordination with the Army.� Opening section of the Azm-i-Nau IV exercise was attended by Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gen Khalid Shameem Wynne, Chief of Army Staff Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt.
